Arlene P. Carlson, 85, passed away peacefully at her home in Antioch, Illinois, on May 16, 2024, surrounded by her devoted family.
Arlene’s life journey began on March 1, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, where she was born to Henry and Phyllis Burzych. In 1967, she united in marriage with Robert L. Carlson, who preceded her in death in 2012.
Arlene was a cherished mother to Christine (John) Teubert and Tracey George. Her heart swelled with love for her grandchildren: Matthew Teubert, Elizabeth (Andrew) Lewis, Austin George, and Ryan George. The twinkle in her eyes was especially evident when surrounded by her precious great-grandchildren, Theodore and Oliver Lewis.
In addition to her loving family, Arlene is survived by her sister-in-law, Arlene Burzych, and a host of extended family and cherished friends. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Robert, her brother Henry Burzych, and her sister Shirley Rogers.
Arlene’s unwavering devotion to her family was the cornerstone of her existence. She cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories that will forever be etched in their hearts. Her love radiated throughout her home, where she welcomed loved ones with open arms.
In her spare time, Arlene enjoyed various pursuits that brought her joy. Her hobbies ranged from gardening to reading and spending time in the company of those she loved. Her laughter and enthusiasm were contagious, leaving an enduring mark on those around her.
Arlene’s passing leaves a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved her. Her indomitable spirit, unwavering love, and infectious joy will live on as a perpetual reminder of the extraordinary life she lived.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and funeral services will commence at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Strang Funeral Home, 1055 Main St., Antioch, IL 60002. Interment will follow at Hillside East Cemetery in Antioch.
