Carroll Johnson

Carroll Johnson was born in Clinton, Oklahoma on February 2, 1933. He was the son of Jack Sterling Johnson and Gladys (Coker) Johnson. Carroll had two sisters, Marilyn (Getz) and Barbara Johnson.

As a young child, Carroll and his family were forced to migrate across the country during the Dust Bowl. They camped along the orange orchards of Southern California and eventually settled in Los Angeles.

Carroll graduated early from high school in order to enlist in the U.S. Navy and fight in the Korean War (1951-1955). After the war, he married his first wife, Joyce, and moved his young family to Oroville, California in 1960.

Carroll worked as a salesman for Hill Furniture and Austin’s Furniture of Chico until his retirement. He was also very active in the Breakfast Lions Club, Oroville Jaycees, and Eagles club.

Carroll was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, and he loved to put on a good party. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
