Cinemark Celebrates National Popcorn Day with a $5 BYOB Deal
This January 19th, Cinemark is celebrating National Popcorn Day with a unique offer: bring your own bucket and fill it with popcorn for just $5. This drastically undercuts the theater’s usual concession prices, offering a significant savings for moviegoers. While $5 might only buy a small candy at most theaters, Cinemark is allowing customers to bring any container from home (within reason, of course – no trash bags or wheelbarrows allowed). The only limitation is a 400-ounce maximum, which is roughly three times the size of a standard large popcorn bucket.
This deal presents a compelling opportunity, especially considering that January’s box office tends to be quieter. Cinemark’s SVP of Food & Beverage, David Haywood, highlighted the fun aspect of the promotion, stating, “Popcorn has always been the star of movie theater concessions, though popcorn vessels have become an award-worthy supporting actor. We are excited for everyone to get creative with this campaign and show off their choice of container while enjoying the iconic snack alongside a great film.” However, Cinemark does retain the right to refuse containers deemed a potential health risk.
While we wouldn’t want to imply we are endorsing Cinemark specifically, any substantial savings on typically overpriced movie concessions are certainly worth noting. Remember, though, this generous deal allows only one bucket fill per customer. So, plan accordingly and get ready to enjoy a mountain of popcorn at a fraction of the usual cost!
