A 25-year-old Bradley, Illinois man, Joshua Zilm, has been arrested and charged with murder after allegedly shooting and killing his 39-year-old uncle, Scott McLain, with a crossbow. Bradley police and fire crews responded to a call at a home in the 200 block of North Clinton Avenue just before 2:20 p.m. on Sunday. Upon arrival, they found McLain deceased inside the residence. Court records indicate he had been fatally wounded by a crossbow.
Zilm, who lived with McLain, was immediately taken into custody. He was subsequently charged with murder and transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center. Zilm appeared in Kankakee County court on Monday and was ordered held without bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for January 16th. Police have not yet released details regarding the circumstances that led to the shooting.
