It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bruce C. Engert, 80, of Boothbay Harbor, Maine, who passed away peacefully on May 10, 2023. Bruce was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, and his loss will be deeply felt by his family and friends.

Early Life and Education

Bruce was born on August 15, 1942, in Portland, Maine, to Charles and Mary Engert. He graduated from Portland High School in 1960 and went on to attend the University of Maine, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1964.

Business Career

After graduating from college, Bruce began his business career at a local bank in Portland. He quickly rose through the ranks, and in 1975, he founded his own company, Engert & Associates, a financial planning firm. Over the years, Bruce helped countless individuals and families achieve their financial goals, and he was widely respected in the community for his expertise and integrity.

Family and Community

Bruce was a devoted family man. He married his beloved wife, Susan, in 1966, and they raised two children together. Bruce cherished his family above all else, and he always made time for them, no matter how busy he was. He was also actively involved in his community, serving on the local school board and volunteering at a number of organizations.

A graveside service will be held for Bruce on May 23, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Cemetery in Boothbay, Maine. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Bruce’s memory.
