Catherine Cosgrove Westervelt, 63, of Winslow, Passes Away at Home

Catherine Cosgrove Westervelt, a resident of Winslow, Maine, passed away peacefully at her home on May 19th. She was 63 years old.

Catherine was born in Waterville, Maine, on July 2, 1959, to John and Mary Cosgrove. She graduated from Waterville High School in 1977 and went on to earn a degree in nursing from the University of Maine at Augusta. She worked as a registered nurse for over 30 years, most recently at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Waterville.

Catherine was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also a faithful member of Notre Dame Church of the Parish of Corpus Christi in Waterville.

Catherine is survived by her husband of 40 years, Mark Westervelt; her children, Sarah Westervelt of Winslow, and Michael Westervelt of Portland; and her grandchildren, Emma and Ethan Westervelt. She is also survived by her siblings, John Cosgrove of Waterville, and Mary Cosgrove of Augusta.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Notre Dame Church of the Parish of Corpus Christi in Waterville on July 2nd at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Waterville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Catherine’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
