Brunswick, Maine – November 20, 2023 – The Brunswick community mourns the passing of Marion Amy Malcolm, a beloved matriarch and community pillar, who passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on November 19, 2023.
Marion, a lifelong resident of Brunswick, was known for her unwavering kindness, infectious spirit, and unwavering dedication to her family, friends, and community. She was a constant source of love, support, and wisdom for countless individuals throughout her life.
Early Life and Humble Beginnings
Marion was born on March 5, 1937, in Brunswick, Maine, to devoted parents who instilled in her the values of hard work, compassion, and service to others. She grew up in a modest home, where she learned the importance of family and community from a young age.
A Life Filled with Purpose and Joy
Marion dedicated her life to her family and her community. She married the love of her life, John Malcolm, in 1958, and together they raised three loving children. Marion was a devoted wife and mother, always putting the needs of her family first.
In addition to her family, Marion was passionate about serving her community. She was an active member of the Brunswick Historical Society and the Brunswick Lion’s Club, where she dedicated countless hours to preserving local history and supporting community projects.
Marion’s unwavering commitment to her community also extended to her volunteer work at the local soup kitchen and homeless shelter. She believed that everyone deserved dignity and compassion, and she dedicated herself to making a difference in the lives of those in need.
A Matriarch of Strength and Grace
Marion was the matriarch of a loving family that included three children, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She cherished time spent with her family, sharing laughter, stories, and her unwavering love. Marion’s legacy will live on through the values she instilled in her family and the countless lives she touched throughout her lifetime.
A Celebration of a Life Well-Lived
A memorial service for Marion Amy Malcolm will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Gardiner, Maine, on May 29, 2023, at 11:00 AM. A celebration of life will follow at the Maple Hill Farm Inn/Conference Ctr. in Hallowell, Maine.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marion’s memory to the Brunswick Historical Society or the Brunswick Lion’s Club.
