Fake COIs, Voter Cards Rampant: SMSS Alleges

The Sikkimese Moolniwasi Suraksha Sangh (SMSS) held a press conference in Gangtok on December 27th, leveling serious allegations of widespread fraud within the state. President Ratna Lal Sapkota led the charge, claiming a rampant issuance of fake Certificates of Identification and voter ID cards, a practice he asserted was systematically disenfranchising native Sikkimese citizens.

Beyond voter fraud, the SMSS also accused authorities of illegally subletting shop licenses, issuing unauthorized vehicle permits, and perpetrating irregularities in lottery sales. These allegations paint a picture of systemic corruption impacting various sectors of Sikkim’s economy and governance. The organization has called for immediate investigations into these matters by the relevant departments and demanded accountability for those responsible.
