The attack, similar to recent vehicle-ramming attacks in Europe, raises serious concerns about the potential for lone-wolf attacks within the United States. The ease with which Jabbar obtained and utilized the rare explosive compound is also a major area of focus for investigators. His military background, specifically his roles as a Human Resource Specialist and IT Specialist, are being analyzed to determine if his bomb-making knowledge was acquired during his service.

A reporter’s controversial video tour of Jabbar’s house the day after the FBI raid further fueled public unease. The tragedy was compounded by the suicide of a New Orleans prosecutor days later.
