Mumbai, India – Janhvi Kapoor, the daughter of late Bollywood icon Sridevi, has opened up about her ongoing struggle to come to terms with her mother’s untimely demise. In a recent interview, she revealed that her mother’s absence still weighs heavily on her.

Embracing Religion in the Wake of Loss

Kapoor, now 27, shared that the loss of her mother prompted her to delve deeper into spirituality and religion. She explained that while her mother always held strong superstitions, she initially hesitated to embrace them herself.

“After she passed away, I started believing in them, maybe even too much,” Kapoor said. “I don’t know if I was this religious and spiritually inclined when she was around.”

Grappling with Grief and Processing the Loss

Kapoor acknowledged that she has yet to fully process her mother’s death. She stated that she still struggles with her absence and finds herself reflecting on her more openly.

“I don’t think I’ve processed it yet,” she said. “I talk about her more now because I like remembering her. Initially, I wondered why people kept asking me about the incident. It was still very fresh in my mind, and I was escaping reality through my work.”

Maintaining a Connection Through Memory

Despite the pain of her loss, Kapoor expressed that she finds solace in keeping her mother’s memory alive. She emphasized the importance of sharing positive memories and reminiscing about her.

“I love remembering her,” Kapoor said. “I love hearing stories about her from others and sharing memories with people who knew her. It’s a way to keep her with me.”

Balancing Grief with Professionalism

Kapoor also discussed the challenges of balancing her personal grief with her professional commitments. She explained that initially, she found it difficult to reconcile the two, but over time, she has learned to navigate both aspects of her life.

“It’s not easy,” Kapoor admitted. “There are times when I have to push through the pain and show up for work. But I’ve learned to take care of myself and give myself space when I need it.”

Ongoing Journey of Healing and Acceptance

Kapoor’s journey of healing and acceptance continues, and she expressed her appreciation for the support she has received from family, friends, and fans.

“I’m taking it one day at a time,” she said. “I have a lot of people who love me and support me, and that helps me get through the tough times.”
