Kevin Eugene Harris, 78, of Antioch, Illinois, passed away on May 9, 2024, after a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis.

Born on February 15, 1946, in Chelmsford, England, Kevin was the son of the late James and Mary (Maher) Harris. He served his country proudly as a United States Marine, earning a Purple Heart for his valor.

Kevin’s love for his family was unwavering. He married the love of his life, Barbara Palo, on February 15, 1969, and together they shared 55 years of love and joy. They welcomed a son, Michael, into their lives.

Kevin had a passion for collecting classic cars and showcased his prized possessions at numerous shows, winning multiple awards for their exceptional condition. He also cherished spending time on the Chain of Lakes, boating with family and friends.

Kevin was an avid sports enthusiast and cheered tirelessly for his Chicago White Sox, Cubs, and Bears. His infectious enthusiasm and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara; his son, Michael; his sister-in-law, Patricia Loar; his brothers-in-law, Robert (Janet), Michael (Grace), and James (Desiree) Palo; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents; his nephew, Jeffrey Palo; and his niece, Jennifer Nuetzmann.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Our Lady of the Lakes – St. Peter Catholic Church in Antioch, Illinois. Interment with military honors will follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or to the Rescue Squad/Fire Department of choice.

Kevin’s memory will forever be etched in the hearts of his loved ones and all who were blessed to have known him. His indomitable spirit, love of life, and unwavering devotion to his family will continue to inspire and guide those who mourn his passing.
