”’html”’Kristina Lee Bryk (Tina)”’html”’

Kristina Lee Bryk, known affectionately as Tina, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at the age of 54. After a courageous three-year battle with stomach cancer, she succumbed surrounded by her loving family.

Born on December 19, 1969, in West Chicago, IL, Tina was the daughter of Robert and Janet (Elmquist) Korman. She resided in various cities throughout her life, including Bartlett, IL, Lindenhurst, IL, and finally settling in Antioch, IL in 2015.

Tina dedicated her life to helping others. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Lake Forest College in 1993 and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago in 1998. She worked as a researcher at Penn State University throughout the 2000s and later as a school social worker at Hillcrest Elementary School in Antioch CCSD 34. Her passion for her work was evident in the countless lives she touched.

Beyond her professional life, Tina was an avid traveler, photographer, and decorator. She enjoyed working out, was a great mother and wife, and had a special love for all things Disney.

On July 5, 1998, Tina married her soulmate, Larry Bryk, in Schaumburg, IL. Together, they shared 25 years of love and companionship. Their union was blessed with two beloved sons, Gabriel (23) and Nathaniel (19). Tina was fiercely proud of her family and cherished every moment spent with them.

”’html”’Memorial Arrangements”’html”’

Memorial Visitation will be held from 2PM until 8PM on Friday, May 17, 2024, at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83), Antioch, IL 60002. Family remembrances will be shared at 6PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Tina’s memory.
