Monopoly GO is ringing in the new year with the return of its popular treasure hunt minigame! The New Year’s Treasures event, starting December 31st and running for four days, invites players to join Sofia on a rewarding adventure.
This minigame is brimming with enticing prizes, including a bounty of dice, minigame tokens, shield and token skins, and even a coveted Swap Pack. The more you dig, the luckier you might get! This guide details all the rewards awaiting you.

To participate, you’ll need pickaxe tokens. Use these to break tiles on the grid and reveal your rewards. The more pickaxes you use on a tile, the better the rewards! A visual indicator at the top of your screen shows the treasure’s location.
Acquire pickaxes by participating in solo events and tournaments. Currently, the New Year’s Eve Bash event and Firework Frenzy tournament offer abundant pickaxe rewards.
Once you’ve gathered enough pickaxes, start digging! Treasures are cleverly concealed, but uncovering a portion reveals its shape and direction, making the search easier.
While every milestone yields a reward, the most desirable prizes include the Top Hat board piece (milestone 17), the Party Time Shield (milestone 10), and the grand prize of a Swap Pack and 2,500 dice at the final milestone (20).
