HOUSTON – Houston police are searching for a suspect in a fatal shooting that occurred Friday night inside Club Waikiki, a bar located at the intersection of Bay Street and Des Chaumes Street in northeast Houston. The incident took place just before 11 p.m.
According to investigators, a larger man entered the bar and, without interaction, approached the victim and shot him once in the chest before fleeing the scene. The victim died at the bar. Police are interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage in an attempt to identify the suspect.
Houston Police Department Lt. Willkens stated that the attack appears to be targeted. “We’re pretty certain he knew exactly who he was coming in to shoot,” Lt. Willkens said. “He came into the bar, went to this individual, shot him one time and took off and left.” The investigation is ongoing.
