Connections, the popular New York Times word game, has captivated the public with its challenge of finding common threads between words. Similar to Wordle, Connections resets daily at midnight, presenting increasingly difficult sets of words. This article offers hints and tips to help you conquer the puzzle.
If you prefer a direct answer, skip to the end. Otherwise, continue reading for clues and strategies. The NYT’s latest word game has become a social media sensation, credited to associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu. Playable on web browsers and mobile devices, Connections requires players to group four words sharing a common theme into four categories.
Each puzzle presents 16 words, divided into four sets. These sets can encompass various topics, from book titles to software and country names. Only one correct grouping exists, despite the potential for multiple seemingly fitting combinations. Correctly identifying all four words in a set removes them from the board. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes; players have a maximum of four before the game ends.
The game allows players to rearrange and shuffle the board to aid in identifying connections. Sets are color-coded by difficulty: yellow (easiest), followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, results can be shared on social media.
