Connections, the popular New York Times word game, has captivated the public with its challenge of finding common threads between words. Similar to Wordle, Connections resets daily at midnight, with each new puzzle offering increasing difficulty. This article provides hints and tips to help you conquer the game.
If you prefer a direct solution, skip to the end. However, if you wish to solve the puzzle yourself, continue reading for clues and strategies.
The NYT’s latest word game sensation, credited to associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu, is a social media hit, playable on both web browsers and mobile devices. The objective is to group four words sharing a common theme from a set of sixteen words divided into four categories. These categories can range from book titles and software to country names, and only one correct grouping exists for each set, even if multiple words seem interconnected.
Correctly identifying all four words in a category removes them from the board. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes; players have four attempts before the game concludes. The board can be rearranged to aid in spotting connections, and categories are color-coded by difficulty: yellow (easiest), followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, results can be shared on social media.
Here are some hints, escalating in difficulty:
Hints (without revealing categories):
* Yellow: Reductions
* Green: Attachments
* Blue: Done
* Purple: Art features
More Detailed Hints:
* Yellow: Crush into a compact shape
* Green: Fasteners
* Blue: Mark as completed
* Purple: Depicted in Dali’s “The Persistence of Memory”
