Farmingdale Resident Passes Away at 80

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Burton Oliver Frazer Jr., 80, of Farmingdale, Maine. Burton passed away peacefully on May 10, 2023, in Stafford, Virginia, surrounded by his loving family.

Burton was born in Gardiner, Maine, on January 15, 1943, to Burton Oliver Frazer Sr. and Marion (Smith) Frazer. He grew up in Farmingdale and attended local schools, graduating from Gardiner High School in 1961. After high school, Burton proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Upon his honorable discharge from the military, Burton returned to Maine and began a successful career in the construction industry. He worked for several local companies before starting his own business, Frazer Construction. Burton was a skilled craftsman and took great pride in his work. He built many homes and businesses in the Farmingdale area, leaving a lasting legacy in the community.

In his free time, Burton enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid golfer and often played at the Augusta Country Club. Burton also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. He was a member of the American Legion Post 2 in Gardiner and the Farmingdale Lions Club.

Burton was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 55 years, Patricia (Smith) Frazer; his children, Burton Oliver Frazer III (and his wife, Michelle) of Stafford, Virginia, and Susan Frazer-Johnson (and her husband, Mark) of Farmingdale, Maine; his grandchildren, Emily Frazer, Sarah Frazer, and Matthew Johnson; and his great-grandchildren, Ethan and Ava.

A private burial will be held for Burton at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Burton’s memory be made to the American Cancer Society.
