Carolyn Glennis (Blodgett) Vining, a longtime resident of Norridgewock, Maine, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2024, at the age of 84. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Early Life and Family

Carolyn was born on January 14, 1940, in Fairfield, Maine, to Clarence Arthur Blodgett Sr. and Christine (Decker) Blodgett. She grew up on a dairy farm in Fairfield and attended Fairfield schools. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Career

Carolyn worked for many years at the Norwock Shoe Co. and the New Balance Footwear Co. in Norridgewock. She enjoyed her work and took pride in her contributions to her community.

Personal Life

Carolyn was known for her love of her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with them, especially on holidays and special occasions. She was also an avid shopper and loved attending lawn sales. She was a kind and generous person who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Survived By

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 61 years, William “Bill” F. Vining; her sisters, Janey Blodgett of Augusta, Christine Debra Demo of Skowhegan, Donna Marie of Skowhegan; her brothers, Donald Blodgett of Norridgewock, Ronnie Blodgett of Fairfield, Terry Blodgett of Benton, and Steve Blodgett of Northport; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Predeceased By

Carolyn was predeceased by her parents, Clarence Blodgett Sr. and Christine Blodgett; her brothers, Earlon “Guss” Blodgett, Gerald “Joe” Blodgett, Brian Blodgett, and Clarence Blodgett Jr.; her sisters, Bernice “Bunny” Lovejoy, Norma Wentworth, and Priscilla Garland.

Memorial Service
