In Remembrance: Dwight Lee Garrett

Dwight Lee Garrett was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, but grew up in Guntersville, Alabama. He resided in Fairview before passing away while visiting his daughter and grandsons in Mobile.

Dwight married Collette Lewter in 1981. Together, they raised three children: Sommer Garrett Calderone, Jared Chase Garrett (who preceded him in death), and a third child. He had a strong bond with his sister, Kathy Garrett Sims, and two grandsons, Sawyer and Slayton Calderone.

Dwight worked in the meat industry for many years, first as a butcher and later as a manager at Kroger. He also served as a volunteer police officer in Cullman County, before joining the force full-time after retiring from Kroger.

Hobbies and Passions

In his later years, Dwight enjoyed listening to gospel music, watching Billy Graham sermons, and spending time with his family. He especially loved sitting on the porch with his grandsons, watching them play ball.

Dwight was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
