Obituary of James Kenneth Neal

James “Kenneth” Neal, Sr. of Cullman, Alabama, passed away on April 8, 2024, at the age of 89. He was born in Cullman to Earnest R. Neal and Gracie Nix Neal.

Family and Legacy

He is survived by his son, James (Tonya) Neal; son-in-law, David Bice; brother, Reggie (Karen) Neal; grandchildren, Cole Bice and Hilary (Josh) Nix; great-grandchildren, Harrison Nix, Hayden Nix, Hadlee Nix, Jace Miller, and Brooklyn Miller.

Kenneth was predeceased by his parents; wife, Dot Neal; daughter, Melissa Bice; and sisters, Evelyn Hardin, Norma Bradford, and Sue Robinson.

Community Involvement

Kenneth was a beloved figure in his community. He served on the Cullman County School Board for multiple years and volunteered with the Trimble Volunteer Fire Department, where he ultimately served as chief for multiple years.

He was also actively involved in various farming organizations.

Legacy of Service

James Kenneth Neal will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, cherished friend, and exemplary citizen. His legacy of compassion, integrity, and service will continue to inspire generations to come.

Visitation and Funeral Services

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 11, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church from 9-11 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m., with interment following services at Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
