Margaret Odine Laney, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on April 7, 2024, at the age of 97.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Cullman Funeral Home. Mrs. Laney will lie in state Thursday from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Blair Methodist Cemetery.

Early Life and Family
Margaret was born on September 22, 1926, to Lonnie Cone and Zora Moore Cone. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Leslie Laney, five brothers, three sisters, and several cherished family members, including her son-in-law Ed Holcombe and daughter-in-law Renee Laney.
Survivors
Margaret is survived by her children Gary Laney (Wanda), Bruce Laney (Joyce), Tim Laney (Donna), Chris Laney, Dianne Wilbanks (Charles), and Connie Holcombe; her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
Passions and Interests
Margaret was an incredibly social and outgoing individual who loved spending time with her friends and family. She was a regular attendee at the Jones Chapel Senior Center, where she enjoyed lunches and socializing. Her hobbies included gardening, canning, and watching Alabama football. She also cherished game shows and Andy Griffith.
Margaret’s greatest joy was cooking Sunday dinners for her family, where everyone gathered to share laughter and make memories. Her legacy as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
