Beloved Oakham Resident, Donna Happy, Passes Away at 75

Oakham, MA – July 30, 2024 – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donna L. Happy, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

About Donna Happy

Donna Happy was born in Boston on November 9, 1948, to the late Donald and Rowena (Coon) Gray. She spent much of her childhood in Bedford, MA, before moving to Gloucester. Donna eventually returned to Bedford, where she resided for many years and worked as the High School Administrative Assistant to the Principal.

Donna was a dedicated and passionate woman who loved her community. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and infectious smile. Donna will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Family and Friends Mourn Her Loss

Donna is survived by her son Chris (wife Melissa), stepdaughter Denise (husband Joe), sister Bonnie (husband Joe), and brother Scott (wife Patti). She also leaves behind six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, eight nieces or nephews, and three great-nieces.

“Donna was a true matriarch to our family,” said her son Chris. “She was always there for us, no matter what. We will miss her dearly.”

Donna’s friends and neighbors also expressed their sorrow at her passing. “Donna was the heart of our community,” said Maria Costa, a longtime friend. “She was always willing to lend a helping hand and was always up for a good laugh.”

Visitation and Funeral Arrangements

Visitation hours will be held today, July 31, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD.

Donna’s funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, August 1, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, CHELMSFORD.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna’s memory to the Oakham Senior Center, 155 Oakham Road, Oakham, MA 01068.

Donna Happy will be forever remembered as a loving and devoted family member, a loyal friend, and a generous member of the Oakham community.
