It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of William Henry Clark, a cherished member of the Cullman community. Mr. Clark, 93, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2024, at Cullman Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

A Life Filled with Love and Legacy

William Henry Clark was born on July 8, 1931, to the late Alex H. and Susie Mae Dodgen-Clark in the quaint town of Hanceville, Alabama. Throughout his life, he remained deeply connected to his hometown, leaving an enduring mark on its legacy.

A loving husband, Mr. Clark shared a devoted partnership with his beloved wife, Peggy Clark. Together, they built a strong foundation filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support.

As a father, Mr. Clark raised two exceptional children, Larry Clark and Bennett Clark, instilling in them the values of hard work, integrity, and compassion. He found immense joy in watching his family grow and flourish, becoming a source of guidance and wisdom for his children and grandchildren.

A Multi-faceted Life, Dedicated to Service

Mr. Clark’s professional life was marked by a strong work ethic and a passion for serving others. He held a variety of positions throughout his career, always approaching his tasks with dedication and a commitment to excellence.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Mr. Clark was actively involved in numerous community initiatives. He served as a volunteer for several local organizations, generously sharing his time and resources to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

Mr. Clark’s memory will be lovingly cherished by his dear wife, Peggy; his sons, Larry (Karen) Clark and Bennett Clark; his grandchildren, John (Carla) Sharp, Kristal (Brett) Goelz, Christian Sharp, Tabitha (Shawn) Burrell, and Jamie (Mark) Womack; his thirteen great-grandchildren; his three great-great grandchildren; his sister, Myrlie Davis; his brother, James (Betty) Clark; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his parents, Alex H. and Susie Mae Dodgen-Clark; his sisters, Mary Clark, Hazel Bush, Betty Lott, and Ruth Smith; and his brother, David Clark.

A Celebration of Life and Eternal Rest

Funeral services to honor the memory of William Henry Clark will be held on Saturday, July 27th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, 16124 Main Street NE, Hanceville, Alabama 35077. The service will be officiated by Bro. Doug Pitts, a close friend of the family.

Prior to the funeral service, a visitation will be held on Friday, July 26th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Hanceville Funeral Home, providing an opportunity for family and friends to gather and reminisce about Mr. Clark’s life.

Following the funeral service, burial will take place at Mountain Grove Congregational Cemetery, 2443 County Road 336, Hanceville, Alabama 35077, where Mr. Clark will be laid to rest alongside his loved ones.
