Jefferson, Maine – It is with heavy hearts that the family of William “Bill” Williamson announces his passing on June 26, 2024, at the age of 83. Bill was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

Bill was born in Jefferson on May 15, 1941, to John and Mary Williamson. He graduated from Lincoln Academy in 1959 and went on to serve in the United States Army. After his military service, Bill returned to Jefferson and worked as a carpenter for many years. He was also a member of the Jefferson Fire Department for over 25 years.

Bill was a kind and generous man who was always willing to help others. He was a devoted husband and father, and he loved spending time with his family. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Bill will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bill is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary; his children, John (and his wife, Susan), Mary (and her husband, Bob), and Robert (and his wife, Amy); his grandchildren, Sarah, David, Emily, and Matthew; and his great-grandchild, John. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, John.

A funeral service will be held at Strong-Hancock Funeral Home in Damariscotta on July 1, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Jefferson Village Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jefferson Fire Department or to the Lincoln Academy Alumni Fund.
