Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Roland “Rollie” Felix Raymond, who passed away peacefully at home on May 18, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 80.

Early Life and Educational Journey

Born in Gardiner, Rollie was the youngest of six children. He excelled in sports throughout his school years, particularly in football and basketball. He proudly graduated from Gardiner Area High School (GAHS) in 1963.

Family and Community Involvement

Rollie married his beloved wife, Judy, and together they raised a beautiful family in West Gardiner. He dedicated himself to his family, coaching his children’s sports teams and volunteering his time at GAHS sporting events.

Rollie took immense pride in watching his children and grandchildren participate in Gardiner sports. He was a true fan, known for his enthusiastic cheering and unwavering support.

Professional Accomplishments

Rollie began his career with Progressive Distributors in 1971 as a salesman. He also enlisted in the National Guard, where he served with distinction for over 20 years, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant.

Upon retiring from Progressive (now Hannaford), Rollie continued to work part-time at Hannaford’s in the grocery department, where he became known as the unofficial store greeter.

Legacy of Love and Laughter

Rollie will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His family will cherish the countless memories they shared with him, filled with laughter, joy, and unwavering support.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy; children Nancy (Caleb) Keune, Nikole (Darryl) Nadeau, Naomi (Lance) Raymond, Natalie (Chris) Brann, and Samuel Raymond; grandchildren Quinn Keune, Amalia Ehrmantraut, Callie, Haley, and Cole Brann, and Felix Raymond.

Rollie’s legacy extends beyond his immediate family, as he touched the lives of many as a foster parent, exchange student host, and loyal friend.

Celebration of Life

A celebration of Rollie’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 5, at 11 a.m. at the Augusta VFW (509 Leighton Rd, Augusta) for light refreshments and sharing memories.
