A Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend

Roxanne Angelika (Fischer) Durant, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on May 20, 2024, after a courageous eight-month battle with cancer.

Born in Oshawa, Ontario, on November 7, 1961, to Otto Fischer and Karin (von Minden) Fischer, Roxanne spent her early years surrounded by a loving family. She was a bright and curious child who excelled in her studies and had a passion for the arts.

A Fulfilling Life and Career

In her adult life, Roxanne met the love of her life, Paul Durant, and they married in 1981. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Danielle, Chadwick, and Matthew.

Roxanne was a dedicated homemaker who found immense joy in caring for her family and creating a warm and welcoming home. She was known for her exceptional culinary skills, often delighting her loved ones with delicious meals and baked goods.

Beyond her role as a wife and mother, Roxanne pursued her passion for nutrition and became a certified holistic nutritionist. She was deeply committed to helping others achieve optimal health through natural and holistic approaches.

A Heart Filled with Love and Joy

Roxanne had a contagious laugh and a warm, inviting spirit that drew people to her. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and had a gift for making everyone feel loved and valued.

She loved spending time in her garden, where she cultivated beautiful flowers and vegetables. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and sharing her culinary creations with her family and friends.

A Legacy of Love and Inspiration

Roxanne’s memory will forever be cherished by her devoted husband, Paul Durant; her loving children, Danielle Durant, Chadwick Durant (Andrea), and Matthew Durant (Claire); her three adored grandchildren, Tyson Jibb (Emily), Colby Jibb, and Allison Jibb; her siblings, Ula Sutton, Tony Fischer (Kathy), and Richard Fischer (Kandis); her step-siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father, Otto; her mother, Karin; and her stepfather, William Schlatter.

Celebrating a Life Well Lived

A celebration of Roxanne’s life will be held at a later date in Canada, where her family and friends will gather to honor and remember her beautiful spirit and the love she shared throughout her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Roxanne’s memory to the Red Cross in either Canada or the United States.
