Online Apple’s Vivid filter

The Online Apple’s Vivid filter gives a flat photo the bright, rich look of Apple’s Vivid photo style. Upload one image and see the original and the filtered copy side by side, at once. This Online Apple’s Vivid filter always uses the same fixed values: contrast 1.2, saturation 1.5 and brightness 1.1. When you download, that same filter is now drawn into the saved PNG at the full size of your original photo. It runs in your browser, free, with no sign-up and nothing to install.

How to use the Online Apple’s Vivid filter

  1. Click the file box at the top of the tool and choose an image from your device.
  2. Your photo appears under “Original Image”. The same photo, with the vivid look, appears under “Image with Vivid Filter”.
  3. Compare the two copies. Colours should look stronger and the picture a little brighter. There are no sliders to set.
  4. Click the “Download Filtered Image” button. The tool draws your photo onto a canvas at its full original pixel size, applies contrast 1.2, saturation 1.5 and brightness 1.1 while it draws, and prepares a PNG.
  5. Click the “Download Filtered Image” link that appears. Your file saves as filtered-image.png.

The look is fixed, so every photo gets the same treatment. A pale photo gains a lot. A bright photo may gain too much, and there is no way to soften it here.

Worked example

Say you upload a dull landscape photo, 3000 × 2000 pixels, taken on a grey day. The tool shows it twice. On the right copy, saturation 1.5 makes colours about half as strong again, so the green field and blue sky stand out. Contrast 1.2 deepens shadows and lifts highlights. Brightness 1.1 makes the whole picture a little lighter.

Now click “Download Filtered Image” and then the download link. The saved filtered-image.png is 3000 × 2000 pixels, the full size of the photo you uploaded, and the vivid effect is inside the file itself, not just on the screen. I checked the download code line by line: the canvas is set to the image’s natural width and height, the filter line is set on the canvas before the image is drawn, and the PNG is made from that canvas. Earlier, this page saved only the small on-screen size and could leave the effect out of the file. That is fixed.

Limits and good to know

  • Fixed values only: contrast 1.2, saturation 1.5, brightness 1.1. There is no strength slider and no way to turn the effect down.
  • One image at a time. There is no batch mode, crop, resize or other editing.
  • One browser warning: a few older browsers (older Safari) cannot bake filters into a downloaded file at all. In those browsers the tool now shows a red note under the download button and says so, instead of quietly saving the unfiltered photo. Chrome, Edge and Firefox download the filtered PNG correctly.
  • The download is always a PNG named filtered-image.png, even if you uploaded a JPEG. A PNG of a big photo can be a large file.
  • Photo details stored in the original file, such as location data, are not carried into the PNG, because the PNG is drawn fresh on a canvas.
  • Very large photos can be slow to appear, because the page holds two full copies of the picture on screen at once, and the download canvas holds a third.
  • This is a browser look that copies the style of Apple’s Vivid photo mode with standard filter values. It is not Apple’s own camera processing.

Why is my result empty or wrong?

  • No preview appears: the file may not be an image, or it may still be loading. Try a standard JPEG or PNG photo.
  • The download button stays grey: it only switches on after an image has loaded. Upload a photo first.
  • Nothing downloads when you click the button: the button only prepares the file. Click the download link that appears under it as well.
  • Your saved image looks unchanged: update the page (hard refresh) so the fixed version loads, upload again, and download again. In the fixed version the filter is drawn into the PNG itself.
  • The picture looks too strong: the values are fixed for every photo. There is no softer setting in this tool.

Why use this Online Apple’s Vivid filter?

It gives a photo a stronger, brighter look in two clicks, with the exact effect stated up front: contrast 1.2, saturation 1.5, brightness 1.1. You see the before and after side by side before you save anything, the saved PNG keeps the effect at full size, and your photo is handled on your own device, not sent away for editing.

Online Apple’s Vivid filter – frequently asked questions

What filter values does the Online Apple’s Vivid filter use?

It uses one fixed mix for every photo: contrast 1.2, saturation 1.5 and brightness 1.1. There are no sliders or other settings.

Does the downloaded PNG really contain the vivid effect?

Yes. The download step sets the same filter on the canvas before drawing your photo, then saves the canvas as a PNG. What you see in the filtered preview is what is drawn into the file.

What size is the downloaded image?

The full size of the photo you uploaded. The canvas uses the image’s natural width and height, not the smaller size shown on screen.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. Your photo is read inside your browser and drawn on a canvas on the page. The tool code has no upload step, so the image stays on your device.
