Use the free PNG to PDF Converter below: your PDF never leaves your browser — all work happens on your device, and nothing is uploaded to any server.
Why turn PNG images into a PDF?
PNG images are everywhere: screenshots, diagrams, scanned pages, digital art, and photos saved without loss. But images are awkward to share as a set. Send ten PNGs and the recipient gets ten files to open one by one, in whatever order their device chooses. Put them in a PDF and you get one file, in your order, that opens the same way on every device and prints cleanly.
Students submit screenshot sets as one PDF. Workers attach diagram pages to a report. Artists send a portfolio as a single document. Anyone who has ever emailed a folder of images knows the mess a PDF prevents. One file, one order, no confusion.
How this tool converts
Choose your PNG images, pick a page size, and press the button. The tool builds a PDF in your browser with pdf-lib, putting one image on each page, and downloads the result. Nothing is uploaded. Your images are processed on your device, which matters when they are screenshots of private work or personal photos.
Page size has two modes. Fit-to-image makes each page match its image, so a wide screenshot gets a wide page and a tall diagram gets a tall page. A4 and Letter instead fit each image onto a standard page, centred, with the image scaled to fit. Standard pages are better for printing and for formal submissions. Fit-to-image is better when the image itself is the document and you want no white space wasted.
PNG versus JPG for PDF
PNG is a lossless format: it keeps every pixel exactly, which is why it is the right choice for screenshots, diagrams, line art and text. JPG compresses by throwing detail away, which is fine for photos but blurs sharp lines and text. If your image has words, diagrams or crisp edges, PNG will look sharper in the PDF. If it is a photograph, the difference is smaller, and a JPG version of the same tool may give a smaller file.
This tool accepts PNG only, by design. Mixing formats in one run leads to surprises in quality and size. If you have JPGs, convert them in a separate run with the matching tool, or convert them to PNG first — but note that converting a JPG to PNG does not restore detail the JPG already lost.
Getting good results
Order matters. Select your images in the order you want them to appear, because the tool keeps selection order. If your file picker scrambles the order, rename the files with numbers first — 01, 02, 03 — and select them sorted by name. Check the downloaded PDF before sending it: open it, flip through the pages, and confirm the order and orientation.
Watch file size. PNG screenshots are large, and ten of them make a large PDF. For emailing, that can be a problem. If the PDF is too big to send, shrink the images first, or split the set into two PDFs. And always keep your original images. The tool creates a new PDF; it never changes your PNGs.
Common uses
Homework and assignments are the classic case: screenshots of work, pasted in order, submitted as one PDF. Receipts and forms are another: photograph each page, save as PNG, combine into one PDF for expenses or records. Designers use it for mood boards and portfolios. Small businesses use it to turn photographed delivery notes into a single record file.
In each case, the PDF is not just tidier — it is more durable. A PDF from today will still open in ten years. A folder of images with a lost ordering may not make sense at all by then.
Common questions
Can I mix PNG and JPG? Not in this tool. Use the PNG tool for PNGs and the JPG tool for JPGs, or convert first.
Will the PDF print well? Yes, especially on A4 or Letter pages. Fit-to-image pages print at their natural size, which can be odd on paper.
Is there a limit on images? No server limit, because there is no server. Your browser memory is the practical limit, so very large sets may struggle on old phones.
Are my images private? Yes. Everything happens locally in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
