Obituary for Richard ‘Dick’ A. Farrow

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and
great-grandfather, Richard “Dick” A. Farrow, at the age of 86. Dick passed away peacefully at his home in Burlington
on Friday, May 17, 2024.

Dick was the epitome of a devoted husband. He met the love of his life, Maureen A. (Small) Farrow, on a blind date at
the tender age of 16. Their love story blossomed over the next five years, and they embarked on a remarkable journey
together, exchanging vows that would last for an extraordinary 65 years.

Born on July 25, 1937, in Woburn, Massachusetts, Dick was one of five children born to William and Irene (Gratton)
Farrow. He graduated from Medford Vocational School, where he laid the foundation for his successful career in the
electronics and homeland defense industries.

Outside of work, Dick’s passions were evident in his hobbies. He spent countless hours nurturing his garden,
meticulously tending to his flowers and vegetables. In the kitchen, he excelled as a culinary master, known for his
mouthwatering sausage and peppers, a dish that became synonymous with family gatherings and celebrations.

However, Dick’s greatest joy in life was his family. He cherished every moment with his wife, Maureen, and their eight
children: Lisa, Richard Jr., Keith, Kevin, MaryBeth, Timothy, Sean, and Jennifer. His heart swelled with pride as he
watched his family grow, welcoming 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren into the world.

Dick’s legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched. He was a devoted coach for his children’s Little
League teams, instilling in them not only the fundamentals of baseball but also the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship.
Each summer, he would create unforgettable memories with his extended family during two-week vacations at Hampton Beach,
where laughter, love, and sandcastle competitions filled the days.

Dick is survived by his loving wife, Maureen, his eight children, and their families, including his 21 grandchildren and
17 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Roland Farrow, and countless nieces, nephews, cousins,
and friends who held a special place in his heart.

Dick’s passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of his family and friends. His infectious enthusiasm, his
unwavering love, and his unwavering commitment to his community will be forever remembered.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Dick’s honor to either the American Heart
Association or St. Jude’s Hospital. Your generosity will support causes that were close to Dick’s heart.

Visitation will be held at Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington, on Wednesday, May 22nd from
3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral mass will take place at St. Barbara’s Parish, 138 Cambridge Rd, Woburn, on Thursday,
May 23rd at 12:00 pm. Please meet at the church. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery at a later date at
