Life and Legacy

Rita M. Vedmar (nee Carroscia), 96, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2024. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Rita was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Michael and Mary (nee Minadeo) Carroscia. She grew up with four siblings: Joseph, Charles, Ann, and Regina. Rita married the love of her life, Louis “Rudy” Vedmar. Together, they had three loving daughters: Lois, Debra, and Laurie.

Rita dedicated her life to her family. She was a devoted wife and mother who cherished every moment with her loved ones. She was also a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, showering her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with endless love and affection.

Rita is survived by her daughters, Lois Percaciante (Frank), Debra Stincic, and Laurie Vedmar; her grandchildren, Jenny Rigo (Keith), Jacklyn Price (Andrew), Nicole Percaciante, Todd Stincic (Trisha Carlson), Erin Harmon (Matthew), Sarah Amirault (Jerry), Daniel Sawyer (April), and the late Frank Percaciante (Megan); her great-grandchildren, Brianna, Rebecca, Mia, Madeline, Myles, twins Sophia and Francesca, Westyn, Brayden, Lincoln, Kayden, and Maeve; and her brother, Joseph Carroscia (Carol).

Services

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Wickliffe, Ohio, on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 10 AM. Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited to pay tribute and celebrate Rita’s life at the DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of Willoughby Hills on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 4-8 PM.

Memorial Contributions

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rita’s memory to Hospice of the Western Reserve or Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
