Samagra Shiksha Employees Continue Indefinite Strike in Gadwal
On January 6th, 2025, Samagra Shiksha employees in Gadwal, Telangana, continued their indefinite strike for the 28th consecutive day. Their protest centers on two key demands: the regularization of their services and the implementation of promised pay scales, a pledge made by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
To maintain momentum and highlight their cause, employees organized a vibrant “Dhoom Dhaam” program at Smruthi Vanam. The event featured singing, cultural performances, and a symbolic Kabaddi match between two teams aptly named “Regular Team” and “Pay Scale Team.” The “Regular Team’s” victory served as a powerful visual representation of their desire for employment regularization.
The strike enjoyed widespread participation from across all wings of Samagra Shiksha in the Jogulamba Gadwal district. Special officers from numerous KGBV schools, including Gattu, Gadwal, KT Doddi, Dharoor, Ieeja, Maldakal, Vaddepalli, Rajoli, Undavelli, Alampur, Manopadu, and Itikyala, actively participated. Notable attendees included Gunti Gopilatha (Gattu KGBV Special Officer), Sridevi (Gadwal KGBV Special Officer), Padmavathi (KT Doddi Special Officer), and numerous other special officers from various schools.
Support for the strike extended beyond individual employees, with active involvement from leaders across various Samagra Shiksha wings. This included B. Ramanjaneyaulu (DPO Wing President), Sridhar (MIS Wing President), Altaf (CCO Wing President), MA Samee (CRP Wing President), Murali (IERP Wing President), and Rajender (PTI Wing President). Furthermore, JAC district president Hushanappa, JAC general secretary Gopal, and KGBV women’s president SP Pranitha lent their support, alongside a significant number of teaching and non-teaching staff.
The employees’ primary demands remain clear and unwavering: immediate regularization of all Samagra Shiksha employees, as promised by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, and the implementation of appropriate pay scales until regularization is achieved. The striking employees have pledged to continue their protest until their demands are met, urging the Telangana state government to take swift action.
