The world ushered in 2025 with a diverse array of celebrations. From grand parties to intimate family gatherings, the new year’s arrival was marked by personal reflection and shared joy. Many chose to begin the year with a relaxing getaway, prioritizing quality time with loved ones. Comedian and actor Kapil Sharma was among them, embarking on a peaceful family retreat to an undisclosed location with his wife, Ginni Chatrath, and their two children.
While Kapil typically shields his family from the public eye, he shared a lighthearted glimpse of their vacation on his Instagram Stories. The video depicted him enjoying an adventurous quad bike ride through rugged terrain, with Ginni appearing to ride behind him on a separate bike. Adding his signature comedic touch, Kapil playfully set the clip to the iconic “Dhoom Machale” tune.
Just prior to the new year, Kapil and Ginni celebrated another significant milestone: their sixth wedding anniversary on December 12th. The couple received an outpouring of well wishes, but it was a video shared by Kapil himself that truly captured the essence of their relationship. The video showed them dancing joyously to an upbeat Punjabi folk song, bundled up in winter attire. Their radiant smiles and infectious energy were a testament to their enduring love. Kapil simply captioned the post, “Happy anniversary to us.”
Kapil and Ginni’s love story began during their college days, culminating in their wedding in December 2018. Their family grew with the arrival of their daughter, Anayra, in 2019, followed by their son, Trishaan, in 2021.
Professionally, Kapil had a busy year. He starred in the Netflix comedy show, *The Great Indian Kapil Show* (TGIKS), alongside fellow comedians Sunil Grover, Kiku Sharda, Krushna Abhishek, and Rajiv Thakur, and a rotating cast of celebrity guests. The show’s first season ran from March to June 2024, followed by a successful second season from September to December 2024, which featured guests including the cast of *Baby John*. Beyond TGIKS, Kapil also appeared in the heist comedy film *Crew*, alongside Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kriti Sanon.
