A pedestrian was killed Thursday night in a traffic accident in western Jefferson County. Sixty-three-year-old Douglas Lee Elliott of Hueytown was struck by a vehicle at 7:55 p.m. on Warrior River Road at Patton Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:21 p.m., according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates stated that the driver remained at the scene and contacted emergency services. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office investigated the fatal crash.
