Stars & Sleuths Sing in Singapore's
Singapore’s adaptation of the hit South Korean game show, “I Can See Your Voice,” brings a unique blend of musical mystery and local celebrity charm to Channel 5. The show challenges contestants to discern talented singers from imposters, with the help – or perhaps hindrance – of a panel of beloved Singaporean entertainers.

This celebrity detective team comprises Benjamin Kheng, Gurmit Singh, Najip Ali, and Xixi Lim. Kheng, known for his musical career with The Sam Willows and as a solo artist, describes his role as providing “quality or misleading advice” to the contestants. Singh, a comedic icon celebrated for his role as Phua Chu Kang, likens the experience to a “musical version of ‘Cluedo’,” highlighting the unpredictable nature of the clues. His long-standing friendship with Ali, evident in their recent collaboration on the drama “Sunny Side Up,” adds a playful dynamic to their on-screen partnership, so much so that the producers had to separate them to control their spirited interactions. Ali, a veteran entertainer with a four-decade career, approaches the task with a more analytical lens, aiming to help contestants distinguish genuine talent while acknowledging his commentary might sometimes add to their confusion. Finally, Xixi Lim, a celebrated actress, model, and singer, rounds out the panel with her comedic flair and advocacy for body positivity.

Hosting duties fall to Joakim Gomez, a radio personality and former Singapore Idol finalist, and Munah Bagharib, a respected actress and host known for her mental health and dementia awareness advocacy. Their combined experience provides a strong foundation for guiding viewers through each episode’s suspenseful unveiling.

“I Can See Your Voice” premieres on January 13th, airing Mondays on Channel 5 and streaming on mewatch and YouTube. Each episode’s final mystery singer receives a substantial SG$10,000 ($7,300) prize, with all winners competing for a Nissan Leaf car. The show’s international success, with adaptations in over 30 countries, attests to its universally appealing format that cleverly combines deduction, performance, and local cultural elements.
