A historic building in Aurora, Illinois, has been reborn. The former Copley Hospital, built in 1888, served as Aurora’s only hospital until 1900, according to a city spokesperson. After closing its doors in 1995, the building has undergone a transformation.
Now, it will reopen as Atrevete Café 1888, a café and bakery paying homage to its original construction date. The new business joins a vibrant area that also includes residential communities and school district offices.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially mark the café’s opening will be held at noon on Monday.
