Three More Fear Street Films Coming, Says Stine

## R.L. Stine Confirms Three More Fear Street Films in Development

The chillingly successful *Fear Street* trilogy, which captivated audiences on Netflix in 2021, is set to expand. Author R.L. Stine, the mastermind behind the *Fear Street* book series, recently revealed to *The Hollywood Reporter* that Netflix is developing three additional films beyond the upcoming *Fear Street: Prom Queen*.

This announcement adds significantly to the franchise’s future. While *Prom Queen*, slated for release in 2025, adapts Stine’s 1992 novel of the same name, the three newly announced films will explore further tales from the vast *Fear Street* universe. Stine expressed optimism about these projects, stating that the writers are actively working on the scripts. This means that, including *Prom Queen*, at least four new *Fear Street* films are on the horizon.

*Fear Street: Prom Queen* itself promises a thrilling return to Shadyside, Ohio, during prom season. The official synopsis teases a sinister twist on the typical high school prom, with mysterious disappearances and a potential killer targeting the prom queen candidates. The film boasts a cast including Katherine Waterston, Lili Taylor, Chris Klein, and Ariana Greenblatt.

While Chloe Okuno was initially attached to direct a subsequent *Fear Street* film, the project is now being helmed by Matthew Palmer, director of the 2018 Netflix thriller *Calibre*, who also co-wrote the screenplay with *Calibre* cast member Donald McLeary. Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and Kori Adelson of Chernin Entertainment are producing, with Yvonne Bernard, Joan Waricha, and Jane Stine serving as executive producers.

The prospect of three additional *Fear Street* movies beyond *Prom Queen* is exciting news for fans of the franchise. With the vast source material from Stine’s extensive book series, the possibilities for future storylines are seemingly endless. The success of the initial trilogy and the talented individuals involved in the upcoming films suggest a bright future for the *Fear Street* cinematic universe.
