Use the free TSV to PDF Converter below: your files never leave your browser — all work happens on your device, and nothing is uploaded to any server.
Where TSV comes from
TSV stands for tab-separated values: the same idea as CSV, but with tabs between values instead of commas. You meet TSV most often without noticing it. Copy a block of cells from a spreadsheet and paste it into a text file, and you have TSV. Export data from many databases and tools, and TSV is one of the offered formats. It exists because tabs almost never appear inside real data, while commas appear all the time in names, addresses and numbers.
That makes TSV a more reliable format than CSV for everyday copying — and a worse one to hand to another person, because a tab-separated file looks like a mess of uneven spaces when opened as plain text. Converting it to a PDF table restores the structure: neat columns, a bold header, pages you can print.
Using the tool
You can upload a .tsv file or paste the data directly. Pasting is the fastest route when the data is already on your clipboard: copy from your spreadsheet, paste into the box, tick the header option if your first row names the columns, and download the PDF. The tool splits on tabs, so a value containing a comma stays whole — no quoting tricks needed.
The sample data in the box shows the shape: a header row, then one row per record, with tabs between values. Replace it with your own data and the table rebuilds from what you paste. If the result shows everything in one column, the paste probably lost its tabs — some programs convert tabs to spaces when copying. In that case, save the file as TSV from your spreadsheet and upload the file instead.
Layout choices that help the reader
Columns share the page width evenly. That is fair, but not always ideal: a column of short codes gets as much room as a column of long descriptions. If one column dominates, consider shortening its values before converting, or splitting the table into two PDFs by column group. Readers forgive a split table; they do not forgive a table they cannot read.
Page size matters too. A4 and Letter both work; pick the one your printer and your reader’s country use. The header row repeats only on the first page in this tool, so for long tables, remind the reader what the columns are by keeping the table short, or by splitting it into sections with their own headers in the source data.
Limits, stated plainly
Long values are cut at sixty characters per cell, because an endlessly wrapping cell breaks the table layout. Totals, sorting and number formatting are not done here — do those in your spreadsheet first, then convert the finished data. And a table with very many columns will be cramped on a portrait page; landscape printing from your PDF reader helps, but splitting wide tables helps more.
None of this is a flaw in TSV itself. It is the honest shape of turning a data file into a printed page. A printed table is a compromise between completeness and readability, and this tool leans toward readability.
Privacy
As with every tool on this site, the work happens in your browser. Your TSV data is parsed on your device, the PDF is built on your device, and nothing is uploaded or stored. That is important for the kind of data TSV usually carries: customer lists, prices, internal records. Close the tab and it is gone.
Common questions
TSV or CSV — which should I use? If your data has commas in it, TSV. If your file is already CSV and clean, the CSV converter. Both produce the same kind of PDF table.
Why does my pasted data show one column? The tabs were lost in copying. Upload the saved .tsv file instead of pasting.
Can I change the header? The header is simply your first row, shown bold. Edit the first row in your spreadsheet before converting to change it.
