TV Show Finder & Episode Guide — Seasons, Episodes, Ratings & Air Dates

“How many episodes are there — and which one was that scene in?” This free TV show finder answers both in seconds. Search any show and it pulls live data from TVmaze, the community-run TV database: poster, rating, status (still running or ended), network and genres, a clean summary, and — the part no search snippet gives you — a complete episode guide: every season, every episode title, its air date and its rating, plus the next scheduled episode for shows still on air. Whether you are settling an argument, planning a rewatch, or checking if a series is finished before you start it, the whole guide is one search away. No sign-up.

How the TV show finder works

The tool talks to the TVmaze API, a free database maintained by TV fans and used by many TV-tracking apps. Your search returns the matching shows ranked by relevance; the tool tidies each record into a card — stripping the HTML out of the summary, reading the average rating, the run years and the network or streaming service — so you can pick the right show when several share a name (remakes and same-title series are common). Pressing Episode guide then fetches that show’s full episode list in one request and groups it by season, specials included as their own group, sorted by episode number. If the show is still running and TVmaze knows what airs next, the guide shows the next episode’s title and date at the top.

How to use it

Type a show name — partial names work — and press Search shows. Check the year and network on the cards to pick the right version, then open its episode guide. The tables are built for the questions people actually ask: how many seasons and episodes exist (the count is at the top), what a specific episode is called, when it aired, and which episodes are rated highest when you want to revisit the best of a long series. Episode ratings come from TVmaze’s community scores, so treat them as a strong hint rather than a verdict — beloved filler episodes exist, and the table lets you find both kinds.

Finished or still running?

The status line on each card answers the binge-watcher’s first question. An Ended show has a complete story you can finish; a Running show may leave you waiting a year for the next season — and the next-episode line tells you exactly how long that wait is. The guide also quietly solves the spoiler problem of searching episode-by-episode on the open web: one page holds every title and date, so you never have to click through articles that recap the episode you have not seen yet. For show-hoppers, the genre and language fields on each card make it easy to spot which of two similar results is the original and which is the remake.

TV Show Finder – frequently asked questions

Is the TV show finder free?

Yes — free, no sign-up and no limit. The data comes from the TVmaze API, which is free for tools like this one.

Where does the data come from?

From TVmaze, a large community-maintained database of TV shows and episodes. Coverage of US, UK and international shows is strong, including anime and streaming originals.

Why is an episode or a show missing?

Very new episodes can take a short time to appear, and obscure local shows are added by volunteers, so a few may be missing. If TVmaze does not have it yet, it usually arrives soon.

Does it show movies too?

No — TVmaze covers television: series, miniseries and TV specials. Movies are outside its database, so a film title will normally return no results.
