- Submit a new, stronger application. For most applicants, especially those refused over funding or documentation, this is faster and cheaper than the alternative below. Fix the specific issue named in your refusal letter — do not just resubmit the same file.
- File a Klage (lawsuit) with the Verwaltungsgericht Berlin (Berlin Administrative Court). This is the formal legal route, and it takes considerably longer than a fresh application. It usually only makes sense if you believe the refusal was factually wrong and you are not in a hurry to start your semester.
