The Bhootpurva Sainik Sangathan, Assam Lingzey, celebrated its 20th foundation day on Thursday, December 27th, in Namcheybong constituency, Gangtok. The grand celebration, attended by area MLA and Education Minister Raju Basnet, marked two decades of service and camaraderie among the ex-servicemen.
A key event of the day was the laying of the foundation stone for a new multipurpose hall and restroom. This project aims to significantly benefit the residents of Assam Lingzey and contribute to the overall development of the area.
The organization’s primary goal, as stated in a press release, is to foster unity among Sikkim’s ex-servicemen and to positively impact society, particularly the younger generation. The foundation day celebration served as a powerful demonstration of this commitment to community engagement and social contribution.
