A recent viral video showcases Brazilian model Camilla Araujo’s shocked reaction to her assistant, Julia Filippo’s, OnlyFans earnings. Filippo revealed she earned a staggering $54,000 (approximately Rs 46.3 lakh) in a single week, leaving Araujo visibly stunned. Araujo shared the video on Instagram, initially expressing disbelief but subsequently criticizing viewers for commenting on Filippo’s appearance. Araujo stated, “You all are sick because she looks 12. You all are sick and twisted,” sparking significant backlash.
Social media users largely condemned Araujo’s comments, with many suggesting jealousy as the underlying motive. Numerous commenters pointed out the irony of criticizing the audience while simultaneously showcasing Filippo’s substantial earnings. Some accused Araujo of being envious of Filippo’s financial success, highlighting the disparity between their incomes. However, some users echoed Araujo’s concern regarding Filippo’s appearance, commenting on her perceived youthfulness.
OnlyFans, however, maintains that Filippo meets the platform’s age requirements. CEO Keily Blair has publicly stated that OnlyFans employs sophisticated measures to verify user age and identity, strictly prohibiting underage content. This statement was made in response to ongoing concerns about the presence of child sexual abuse material on the platform.
Despite these assurances, concerns remain. A Reuters report details an investigation by Matt W.J. Richardson, head of intelligence at The Canadian Open Source Intelligence Centre, who flagged 26 accounts suspected of containing child sexual abuse material to authorities. Following this report, OnlyFans swiftly removed all flagged accounts within 24 hours. The incident highlights the ongoing challenge of effectively moderating user-generated content on platforms like OnlyFans, which rely on monthly subscriptions and one-time payments for explicit photos and videos.
