Cinemark Celebrates National Popcorn Day with a $5 Bring Your Own Bucket Deal
Cinemark is celebrating National Popcorn Day on January 19th with a unique deal: bring your own bucket and fill it with popcorn for just $5. This significantly undercuts the typical cost of popcorn at movie theaters, offering a substantial saving for moviegoers. While a standard purchase might only afford a small handful of buttery kernels, this promotion allows for a much more generous serving.
The deal isn’t without limitations. While Cinemark encourages creativity in container selection – anything from a kitchen bowl to a (reasonably sized) container is acceptable – excessively large receptacles like trash bags or wheelbarrows are prohibited. The limit is set at a respectable 400 ounces, roughly three times the capacity of the chain’s Gladiator II Colosseum bucket. Considering XL popcorn typically costs around $12, this represents a significant value proposition. However, keep in mind that you’re limited to filling your bucket only once.
David Haywood, Cinemark’s SVP of Food & Beverage, emphasizes the iconic nature of popcorn at the cinema: “Popcorn has always been the star of movie theater concessions, though popcorn vessels have become an award-worthy supporting actor. We are excited for everyone to get creative with this campaign and show off their choice of container while enjoying the iconic snack alongside a great film.” Cinemark does, however, reserve the right to refuse any containers deemed a “potential health risk.”
This promotion provides a welcome opportunity to enjoy a movie and a substantial amount of popcorn at a significantly reduced price. Will you be taking advantage of Cinemark’s National Popcorn Day offer?
