Augusta Resident Garvin Desjardin Dies at 86

Beloved Husband and Father Was Active in Community

Augusta, Maine – Garvin Desjardin, a respected and well-known resident of Augusta, Maine, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2023. He was 86 years old.

Born and raised in Augusta, Garvin was a lifelong resident of the city. He graduated from Cony High School in 1955 and went on to serve in the United States Army. After returning home from the service, he worked for several local businesses before starting his own construction company.

Garvin was a hard-working man who took pride in his work. He was also a dedicated family man who loved spending time with his wife and children. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping.

Garvin was also active in his community. He was a member of the Augusta Kiwanis Club and the Augusta Elks Lodge. He was also a volunteer for several local organizations, including the Augusta Food Bank and the United Way.

Garvin will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Beverly Desjardin; his three children, Michael Desjardin, Nancy Desjardin, and James Desjardin; and his four grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Augusta Food Bank in Garvin’s memory.

Garvin’s obituary was published in the Kennebec Journal and Morning Sentinel on May 18, 2023. No services will be held, as per Garvin’s wishes.
