Obituary: Carl Everett Moore

Carl Everett Moore, 80, of North Anson, Maine, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at his home with his loving wife of 53 years, Ruth, by his side.

Early Life and Military Service

Carl was born on September 15, 1943, in Mattawamkeag, Maine, to Grace Wyman Lucas. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for two years and the Army National Guard for an additional year.

Community Involvement

Carl was a dedicated member of the community. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 7865 in Madison and American Legion Post 0061 in Kingfield. He was actively involved in both organizations, supporting veterans and their families.

Personal Life

Carl was known for his infectious sense of humor and love of a good joke. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, going for long car rides, listening to country music, and savoring meals at local restaurants. Carl will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survived By

Carl is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth; children, Carl Moore Jr., Rennetta Smith, and Jefferey Egan; brothers, Richard “Dickie” Wyman and James “Jim” Lucas; sister, Linda Dufoe; brother-in-law, Frederick “Fred” Foss; sister-in-law, Shirley Gordon; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Predeceased By

Carl was predeceased by his mother, Grace; sisters, Nancy Grover and Tina Lucas; brothers-in-law, Louis Tuttle, Philip Smith, Earl Foss, Clayton Foss, and James Dufoe; and sisters-in-law, Frances Tuttle, Adeline Smith, Erma Atwood, and Donna Foss.

Funeral Arrangements

A graveside service to honor Carl’s life will be held at a later date at Somerset Cemetery in North Anson. Cremation services are being handled by Dan and Scott’s Cremation and Funeral Services in Skowhegan.
