Life and Legacy
Jason Andrew Tompkins, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at the age of 37.
Jason was born on November 7, 1986, in Pirmasens, Germany, to Bruce Tompkins and Scherry (Wharton) Stone. He spent his childhood in St. Joseph, Missouri, where he attended Central High School. After graduating, Jason relocated to Maine with his family, eager to embark on a new chapter in his life.
In Maine, Jason found love and purpose. He met his soulmate, Tiffany Wheeler, while working at Nouria Energy in Farmingdale. They married on July 16, 2022, and together they built a beautiful life surrounded by their cherished children.
A Passion for Life
Jason possessed an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and a deep passion for mechanics. He loved tinkering with computers, cars, and anything that sparked his curiosity. His love of tractors inspired him to spend countless hours exploring the outdoors with his family.
Jason found solace and joy in nature. He enjoyed hiking, taking long walks, and exploring the rugged coastline of Maine. He was an avid cook, known for his exceptional meatloaf and culinary adventures.
A Devoted Family Man
Above all else, Jason was a devoted family man. He cherished his children, Skye Wharton, Heaven Tompkins, Jason A. Tompkins Jr., Philip Carson Jr., and Cole Tompkins, showering them with love and laughter.
Jason’s memory will forever be etched in the hearts of his wife, Tiffany; his mother, Scherry (Wharton) Stone and her husband, Clifford “Allen”; his stepfather, Terry Hughes; his sisters, Michelle Tompkins, Kim Hughes, Kaylee Stone, and Amanda Tompkins; his brothers, Mitchell Hughes, Justin Hughes, and Kyle Stone; and countless extended family members and friends.
Legacy of Love and Remembrance
Jason Andrew Tompkins will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His infectious laughter, unwavering support, and genuine spirit will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of crossing his path.
In lieu of flowers, Jason’s family requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity that supports environmental conservation or technical education. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 18, at 3:30 p.m. at Forrest Grove Cemetery in Augusta, Maine.
Arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care in Gardiner, Maine.
