Born on July 13, 1959, in Bremen, Alabama, Karey was the cherished daughter of Kenneth Fred McDonald and Gloria “Faye” McDonald. Throughout her life, she lived a life dedicated to her family and her faith in God.

Karey’s unwavering love for her family was the cornerstone of her life. She is survived by her devoted husband of many years, Jerry Hughey, who stood by her side through every step of their journey.
Her heart overflowed with love for her five children: Leslie (David) Alexander, Kasey (Chris) Simmons, Kellie (Seth) Graves, Jeremy (Mackenzie) Hughey, and Corey (Abigail) Hughey. Each of her children held a special place in her heart, and she dedicated her life to raising them in a loving and nurturing environment.
A Cherished Grandmother
Karey’s greatest joy was her nine beloved grandchildren: Ayden and Cason Alexander, Lukas and Kora Simmons, Kenady, Kaiden, Kyleigh, Kenlee, and Olivia Graves. She cherished every moment spent with them, showering them with love and affection.
