vCard to CSV Converter – Turn VCF Contacts into a Spreadsheet Free

Every phone and email service will happily export your contacts as a .vcf vCard file — and almost nothing else wants to open one. Spreadsheets, CRMs and mailing tools all speak CSV instead. This free vCard to CSV converter turns a whole address book into one tidy spreadsheet: drop in the .vcf from your iPhone, Android, iCloud, Google Contacts or Outlook export, and download a .csv with a row per contact and columns for name, organisation, job title, two emails, two phones, address, website and notes. Backups, migrations and clean-ups all get much easier from there.

How to convert a vCard (VCF) file to CSV

First export your contacts as a single .vcf file: iPhone and iCloud offer this from the Contacts settings, Android from the Contacts app’s export option, Google Contacts from its Export menu and Outlook from its people export. Then drag that .vcf onto the drop zone above, or click to pick it. The converter reads the file straight away, tells you how many contacts it found and shows a small table with the first five, plus a preview of the CSV itself. Press Download and the file arrives with your original name and a .csv ending, ready to open in Excel, Google Sheets or LibreOffice, or to import into a CRM or mailing-list tool.

Your contacts never leave your device

An address book is a map of your whole life — family, clients, doctors, everyone — and it should never be uploaded to a stranger’s server just to change its format. This converter protects that privacy by design: the file is converted locally in your browser and never uploaded anywhere. The vCard is parsed and the CSV written by code running entirely on your machine, so nothing is stored, logged or shared, and once the page has loaded you could even go offline and still convert.

What you can do with your contacts as a spreadsheet

A CSV of your contacts is the starting point for jobs a phone makes painful. Clean an address book properly: sort by name to spot duplicates, filter by organisation, fill gaps and fix old numbers in bulk instead of one contact at a time. Move between services without lock-in: nearly every CRM, email-marketing tool and contact manager imports CSV, even when it refuses vCard files. Build a printable phone list for family, a call sheet for an event or a client directory for a small business. Keep a real backup, too — a vCard backup is only useful if something can read it, while a CSV opens in any spreadsheet on any computer, years from now. Teachers turn class parent lists into mailing merges from one, clubs manage membership rosters, and anyone changing phones can check exactly what is about to move before it moves.

Limits and what does not convert

The converter reads standard vCard 2.1, 3.0 and 4.0 cards and extracts the fields most exports actually use: display name (or the structured name if no display name exists), organisation, job title, the first two email addresses, the first two phone numbers, address, website and notes. Extra emails or phones beyond the second of each are not carried into the CSV, and some fields have no column of their own — photos, birthdays, social profiles and custom labels are skipped. Long lines folded across two lines, as vCard requires, are joined correctly, and commas and quotes in your data are escaped properly so the spreadsheet columns stay aligned. Files over 10 MB are refused to keep the browser responsive.

vCard to CSV Converter – frequently asked questions

Is this vCard to CSV converter free?

Yes. It is completely free, with no sign-up and no limit on how many contact files you can convert.

Is my contacts file uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion happens locally in your browser, so your address book never leaves your device.

Will the CSV open in Excel and Google Sheets?

Yes. It is a standard RFC 4180 CSV file with a header row, so Excel, Google Sheets, LibreOffice and Numbers all open it with the columns already separated.

What if a contact has three phone numbers?

The CSV has room for two phone numbers and two emails per contact, so the first two of each are kept and any extras are left out.
