How our lists are built
The word list was compiled from a large open English dictionary source and cleaned to plain a–z words of 2–15 letters. It is intentionally broader than any single game’s official dictionary, so an occasional rare or technical word appears that tournament Scrabble or Wordle would not accept — the list pages say so in their FAQs rather than pretending otherwise. Counts are computed from the list itself, never estimated.
