Do not book a Duolingo test assuming it will be accepted by a German or Italian public university unless that specific program’s admissions page names it. If your target program only lists IELTS, TOEFL, PTE Academic, or Cambridge exams, a Duolingo score will likely be rejected outright, costing you both the test fee and time. If your undergraduate degree was English-medium, request your medium-of-instruction letter early — the same document is also useful when you write your statement of purpose — it is the cheapest and fastest route for many Pakistani applicants, but only where the specific program explicitly accepts it.
